In India, the neem tree is found everywhere. It's an evergreen tree that has medicinal properties, used in different parts of villages and cities. This tree is referred to as a beneficial tree. Every part of this tree has benefits, including its leaves, bark, seeds, and oil. Neem leaves have health benefits and disease-fighting capabilities. They are rich in antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. People in India use neem leaves directly or indirectly for treating many diseases, such as skin diseases and toothache issues. And digestive issues that neem’s bark is useful for bump problems. What is Neem?

Now, before dissolving into the treatments through the neem, let us first know what neem is. The neem tree is a fast-growing evergreen tree mostly found in tropical regions. It's quite bitter in taste. It has anti-infective, anti-inflammatory, and immune-boosting properties. Normally in India, people consume neem leaves in the form of juice, paste, dried powder, and directly in bath water. The neem tree is very commonly found, and it is used in Ayurvedic and herbal formulations for treating many diseases.

What Skin Diseases are Treated by Neem?

Neem is mostly used for treating skin diseases as compared to other diseases. Traditionally, people use neem leaves to cure skin conditions. By making their paste and applying it on skin, as it has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, it is considered a go-to remedy for many skin diseases.

Some of the skin diseases that can be cured by neem leaves are given below.

1.Acne and Pimples

Neem leaves are most effective in treating acne and pimples. It controls excess oil production, reduces inflammation and also prevents bacterial infections that are responsible for acne. Neem paste is applied on the face or washing it with neem water can help prevent acne and pimples on the skin and make the skin clear. There are many natural and cosmetic products made up of neem extract for treating skin diseases like acne and pimples.

2.Eczema and Psoriasis

Eczema and psoriasis are considered chronic conditions which can also be treated with the help of neem leaves. In this condition the skin turns red and itchy; neem leaves can reduce inflammation and help soothe the skin. Scabies is another condition caused by mites. Neem has insecticidal properties that help eliminate the mites and help in retaining the redness and itching of that area. You can apply the paste on the infected area, and also you can crush neem leaves into boiled water and take a mild bath with that water; it helps us with skin rashes, itching and redness.

Oral and dental diseases treated by neem

Apart from skin conditions, neem is also used in treating oral and dental issues. Neem can be used in a form of toothbrush, such as twigs or neem leaves, and can help prevent various dental problems. Using neem twigs can also help in maintaining oral hygiene.

Neem leaves can help reduce bacteria in your mouth that cause bacterial infections or decay, which results in toothache. There are many brands who use herbal toothpaste which includes neem extract for this reason.

2.Gum Disease

Neem also helps in treating gum diseases like gingivitis, as it has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties which help in reducing gum inflammation and fighting bacteria which cause gum diseases. For treating gum disease, you can use neem for rinsing the mouth, or you can use neem-based mouthwash.

3.Mouth ulcers

Using neem water for gargling can also help with implementing mouth ulcers, as neem has cooling and healing properties, which also promote faster healing.

4.Bad Breath

People often complain about bad breath even after using toothpaste. Chewing neem leaves can help prevent an overgrowth in the mouth and help clean the mouth, which results in freshening breath naturally.

Precautions and Side Effects

Although neem leaves have many benefits, they should be used with precautions and by keeping their side effects in mind:

● Pregnant and breastfeeding women should not take any name products, as it leads to many other issues inside their bodies. es.

● Do not consume leaves in large quantities, as it may result in vomiting, diarrhoea or even liver and kidney issues.

● Small children can get sick if they take neem oil or concentrated neem extracts. These products react strongly and adversely.

● People with ongoing diseases such as diabetes or blood pressure issues should consult their practitioner before taking any neem supplement, as neem also has blood sugar-controlling properties, so a diabetic person should monitor their sugar levels if consuming neem.

● People with sensitive skin should do a patch test first before applying any neem product on their skin allergies.

Neem leaves have many powerful medicinal properties which can cure many diseases, especially skin diseases and oral diseases, but they also have side effects. It is recommended to use neem products with proper guidance and knowledge to avoid any problem in the future.

Natural remedies treat with the traditional roots, and neem is one of them, as it is used by many brands in their products, such as toothpaste and neem toothbrushes. Other cosmetic brands, such as neem powder and neem oil, are for better skin.
