Pediatric Hematology
Dr. Rasmi is a children's cancer, blood disorders, and bone marrow transplant specialist. She did her M.B.B.S from Government Medical College Thrissur, Kerala. Following this, she did her 3-year residency in Pediatrics at Texas Tech University, Amarillo, the USA where she was also the Chief Resident. She went on to do a 3-year fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology from Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital, Cleveland, USA. She did her training under the clinical mentorship of Dr. Yousif Matloub, who is an Internationally recognized expert in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). She also did research under the guidance of Dr. John Letterio, who is an eminent researcher in the field of cancer chemoprevention, in developing methods to enhance stem cell engraftment after a bone marrow transplant. During her training, she had ample exposure and gained expertise in various pediatric cancer diagnoses, benign blood disorders, stem cell transplantation and research trials. She also presented her research work at National conferences. Dr. Rasmi's clinical interests include various malignancies in children including acute and chronic leukemia, lymphoma, brain tumors, bone cancers, kidney tumors, and neuroblastoma. She is also specialized in performing hematopoietic stem cell transplant for malignant conditions as well as benign blood disorders and immunodeficiencies.
