Can Dry Cough Turn Chronic?

What is the reason for dry cough that is persistent since months? Can dry cough turn chronic or have underlying health concerns?

Dr Ambili P Panicker replied

Hi Shrdha, you have to give a more detailed history of your symptoms so that we can pinpoint to a diagnosis. And then it needs treatment or sometimes just a lifestyle modification, based on the diagnosis which can help relieve the symptoms. If not, there is a chance it can turn chronic. Hope you get evaluated well and get better soon. View Answer
